Robots, Rivalry, and Red Rock: Liftoff Builds and Battles in Las Vegas
TeamWorx recently brought its Robot Build & Battle program to Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa in Las Vegas, where 40 members of the Liftoff team split into eight teams of five for a session of engineering, strategy, and friendly destruction. Set against the backdrop of Red Rock Canyon, the resort’s event space gave the group plenty of room to build, test, and compete.
Each team started with a kit of parts and a simple mission: design, assemble, and drive a robot that could outlast the competition. Within minutes, roles emerged naturally. Some players dove into the build, others took charge of strategy, and a few discovered hidden talents as drivers. Teams tested, tweaked, and rebuilt between rounds, learning fast what worked and what fell apart. When the battles began, the room erupted. Eight teams, one arena, and nonstop cheering made for a high-energy finish.
The program was a natural fit for Liftoff. The company builds an AI-powered growth platform for the mobile app industry, helping advertisers, publishers, game developers, and DSPs market and monetize their apps. At its core is Cortex, a neural-network engine that finds patterns in massive datasets to drive smarter, data-driven decisions. Its products cover user acquisition (Accelerate), in-app monetization (Monetize), programmatic reach (Vungle Exchange), ad creative (Creative), and market insights (Intelligence). Brands like King and PrizePicks rely on Liftoff to grow.
For a company whose technology is built to learn, iterate, and improve, building robots felt like home turf: test, adjust, and try again. The same instincts that drive results at Liftoff were on full display at Red Rock: quick learning, smart collaboration, and a healthy competitive streak.
Thank you to the Liftoff team for bringing the energy, and to Red Rock Resort and its events staff for being such a gracious host. We can’t wait to see what these teams build next. Ready to bring this to your team?
