Palo Alto Robot Battles with Ascend
A Palo Alto Robot Battles team building with Ascend.io yielded an impressive build time of 31:10 (thirty-one minutes and ten seconds); good enough for 31st All Time!
Ascend allows clients to seamlessly combine the full spectrum of data and analytics engineering with ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and observability backed by their DataAwareTM automation. This level of high integration was clearly observable in all of the teams .The team pictured here was able to pull of this build time and simultaneously beat the other team by more than 5 minutes.
The 2nd place team finished with a remarkable time by any measure, but nonetheless had to hear a little bragging from our champions – well deserved for sure! Congratulations to Ascend for impressive performances by both teams.

The venue was across from Stanford University where intelligence and success wafted over from the buildings nearby, making us all a little sharper and more competitive. It was a shopping mall with over 30 unique stores, restaurants, and art galleries, as well as well known coffee and foods brands. We met in the Center for Rational Argument – an oxymoron today and an oasis of hope. I felt better just walking through the doors.
Finishing up a furious meeting, Ascend folks jumped on the robot build and finished with ample time to battle several rounds of engaging and intense combat. Some folks missed the build as they were providing real time customer service to VIP clients, but luckily were able to jump on board for some of the battles and ended their day on a robot battling high! The battles ended when multiple robots became inoperable due to battle injuries – alas – the time was filled with fun and good times!
A furious ending with a dramatic last second robot flip was the perfect ending to a magical afternoon building and battling robots together! Thank you Ascend – we will see you back for Robot Battles 2!
