Santa Clara Robot Team Building with Dell
Santa Clara Robot Team Building with Dell was a huge hit because like most companies in Santa Clara, and anywhere near the 237, Dell has thousands of super smart engineers to entertain from time to time with engaging and stimulating team activities. Robot team building is perfectly suited for engineers and engineer type personalities as it is involves building with really nice materials and creating something that has exciting battle energy and power.
We met at Dell EMC’s office off of Great America Parkway in Santa Clara. You can see the Dell EMC logo from the 237 attached to a beautiful ultra modern glass structure. We used the “Haley’s Comet” conference room which featured beautiful and huge floor to ceiling windows. They allowed ample natural light which was impressive because it was rainy and overcast outside. Four teams – Milkman, Destroyer, Ultron and Avengers battled to beat the Dell all-time robot build record and to beat each other. Team Milkman won the build competition with a time of 41:01 (forty one minutes and one second), dominated the team-versus-team competitions, and won the first all-bot melee! Nice job Milkman! They also hold the Dell all-time record!
After the first all-bot melee, teams were understandably less concerned with keeping score and really just wanted to battle continuously. The last third of the event was completely occupied with pure battling for the sake of fun and thrills. It is always inspiring for us to hear loud “coliseum-like” spontaneous cheers from the crowd, usually when a robot is flipped or two balloons are popped with one skillful move. The more time people get with the robots the more adept they become at eluding sticky situations, and more adept at accomplishing results such as flipping a robot. Thereby, the battles become more and more nuanced and skillful as the event progresses.
A huge thank you to Dell EMC for inviting us back to their beautiful campus off the 237 in Santa Clara; Great job robot building and battling!Robot Team Building
