Facebook Robot Team Building Sets 2nd Best FB Build Time Ever!
A recent Facebook Robot Team Building event had “Team Won” – pictured here – post the 2nd fastest internal Facebook robot build time at 29:19 (twenty nine minutes and nineteen seconds)! Shortly after Team Won completed their robot, “A Team” finished building in just over 30 minutes. Two truly impressive build times from the same group. The current Facebook Robot Build Record is 28:30 (twenty eight minutes and thirty seconds) set on July 12, 2018. Team Won passed the standing 2nd fastest time of 30:01 – sending them to third all time – and also eclipsing the previous best times of 32:30 (May 30, 2018), 32:42 (September 20, 2017), and 33:34 (August 9, 2018). Team Won missed the best time by only 49 seconds!
This was a team of new engineers to Facebook which shows their recruiting is going excellently. Finishing with two of the top times all time, from dozens of Facebook teams and thousands of participants, is a great way to make an excellent first impression and gain some instant swagger. I suspect from the trending direction of overall Facebook build times that the World Record may reside again within 1 Hacker Way before too long.
Team Won lived up to their name again in the team battles crushing A Team 4 to 1 before moving on to the all-bot melee. During the melee a new robot game was invented roughly called “robot balloon soccer” which proved entertaining after everyone’s battle lust was satisfied.
The “Chips and Salsa” room served as an excellent venue within the confines of Hacker Way. Our event was slightly delayed which gave us a chance to eat for free within the glorious confines of the inner courtyard. A ritual we never grow tired of, and a definite boost in our work day when it happens.
A huge thank you to this aspiring group of talent from Facebook! You were truly impressive and obviously destine for many more breaking of records and stuff!
