Waymo Google Meta Intersect and EarnIn
Waymo Google Meta Intersect and EarnIn all built and battled robots over the last two weeks.
Intersect had the best build time of all of the events at 30:05 (thirty minutes and 5 seconds) placing them 33rd All-Time from thousands of teams competing!
Waymo wanted “way-mo” and adventured into the human driving space with our Robot Build and Battle 2 event. Bigger, faster, harder hitting robots led to exciting battles between 10 teams of 7 people. The build takes a bit longer with 7 component parts versus 4 for the robot-1 robots. Nonetheless, Waymo folks built them successfully and inspired each other to amazing robot battles!
Google had two additional events in Mountain View for Robot Build and Battle 1 for 16 and 40 people. Both events had fast build times and amazing battles!
Meta hosted an event for 25 people in Sunnyvale which yielded more good times and few broken robot battle parts. Meta surpassed 80 events with TeamWorx robot team building; congratulations and thank you!
EarnIn hosted a Friday night robot party in an upscale shopping area in Mountain View where “The Met” inspired fashionistas walked stylishly in search of the next best thing. They had 3 teams but truly inspired battles with alliances changing rapidly and only one team leaving the champion!
Robot Build and Battle appeals to a wide range of tech companies because it mirrors the culture and skills that drive innovation: collaboration, rapid problem-solving, engineering thinking, creativity, and friendly competition. Software teams, engineers, product groups, sales departments, and executives all contribute in different ways during the experience. The event blends hands-on building with strategy and excitement, creating an environment where analytical thinkers, creative minds, and competitive personalities can all engage naturally while strengthening communication, teamwork, and company culture.
