Bill Block & Accretive Technology
Our clients this week included Bill Block & Accretive Technology for Robot Build and Battle team building events. Accretive technology is based in Seattle WA where corporate team building events have increased for us with clients like Microsoft and Meta. Accretive is based in downtown near the convention center and the Hyatt Regency. I had a chance to walk around and explore before the event began and found “chicago-esqe” offcie and condo buildings. The architecture was new and stunning.
Accretive were excellent builders with the winning team posting a time of 36:11 placing them just outside the Top 100 all-time build times at 104th! The team was made up of a perfect balance of Manager, Product Leader, Engineer, and QA!
Bill hosted us at their campus in San Jose for just over 30 people and 7 teams of robot build and battle combat. They have an ideal lounge type area that makes the event seem like we are in someone’s den, with comfortable couches and seating and warm decor. Two teams finished within 1 second of each other and so, for a TeamWorx first, we posted both winning teams!
Block hosted us at their spectacular HQ in Oakland CA. Rumor has it that the building used to be a giant Sears store famous for anyone who grew up in Oakland. Now it is a spectacular renovated space that fits technology companeis like a glove.
10 teams battled for robot supremacy with 6 rounds of vigorous 10-robot battles. It was amazing we had any robots left for the finale, which featured all 10 teams representing!
Block showed themselves to be equal parts innovative, and resouceful, in keeping the battles going full strength to the end!
