Meta Robot Build Times
A recent Meta group (pictured above) finished with a super fast robot build time of 29:59 (twenty nine minutes and 59 seconds) which placed them 28th all-time, fastest Meta time this year, and 4th best Meta time ever!
This was also the 2nd fastest time of any teams for 2024 so far! Check out our top robot times.

We still have 3 groups from Meta remaining in December, and a few more may join, so the total story of 2024 has yet to be told.
This group was located in the Sunnyvale office nearby where the 101 freeway and 237 freeway interchange. The group had 6 teams and they decided to create team names, which I think is a great idea to accentuate the feeling of being a team.
The team names included:
- Terminator
- Terminator 2
- Terminator 3
- Autobots
- Avengers
- Metabot (winners of build competition)
The build competition was very even after the first team, with most teams finishing closer to 40 minutes. This allowed us to get 6 rounds of “points based combat,” 2-minute rounds where each bot battles the entire two minutes. This allowed everyone to get a chance to battle, even teams with 6 people. The results were varied with different modifications and driver skill leading to a random assortment of winners.
The winning team is always the one who wins the “Last Bot Standing” competition, and in this case it was a team that researched our blog to find different modification examples, and then applied this knowledge to their own bot. The result was a decisive victory in the final battle, and a well deserved championship!
A huge thank you to all of the Meta teams competing to build the robot faster than each other and for a World Record! And, a special thanks to our top teams on the record board, including this team with a truly impressive under 30-minute build time and a top 30 ranking!
